1. Is Your Profile Optimized?
Regardless of what network you’re using, you have the opportunity to optimize your profiles with custom graphics and content. Make sure your profiles are taking advantage of the customizing features provided by the specific network. Don’t lose out on educating and attracting customers by having a poorly designed or incomplete profile. Have questions on how or what you should be optimizing on any specific network? 2. Know What Your Sales Are Going To Be?
Regardless of the time of year, your Fans and Followers love seeing special offers come across their News Feed. However, during the Holiday Season sales and specials are going to attract customers more than any other time of the year. As soon as you know what specials and sales you’re going to offer during the Holiday Season, create a content calendar to be sure that you’re posting your special offers on your profiles. Specials should be shared in advance to get hype up and while the promotion is going on. However, be careful to not over promote your specials, once or twice a week should be enough, unless you have a much larger Fan or Following base.
3. Available To Answer Customer Inquiries?
During the Holidays many brands will see an increase in customer inquiries. This can be expected because so often purchases are being made for family and friends and the purchaser may not be as familiar with the items. With social media becoming more and more the go to medium for customer service inquiries, it’s important to ensure you have a system in place to be able to respond to these increased customer inquiries in a timely manner. This may mean you need to hire or outsource your social media efforts or add checking social platforms more frequently to current employee tasks.
4. Is Your Audience Engaging With Your Brand?
The whole reason your business is using social media is to be able to engage with your customers on a platform they are already comfortable with. If you’re not seeing the engagement from your status updates and Tweets, now is the time to start experimenting with your updates to see what your audience responds to. Start tracking which updates are getting more response and take a little more time creating each post to ensure you’re providing value and quality posts.
5. Do You Need To Expand Your Audience?
If you’ve tried different status types and still seeing no engagement, you may need to increase your audience base. Taking advantage of Twitter Ads or Facebook Ads is a great way to increase your Fans and Followers. Using offline techniques to attract your target market can also prove to be a very effective way to gain more Followers. However you decide to increase your audience, be sure you’re attracting your target market. Having a large Fan base that doesn’t care about your brand isn’t going to increase engagement or provide you with any value.
These are just a small handful of activities you should be adjusting as the Holiday Season approaches. Can you think of any other areas in your social media that should be adjusted for the Holidays, share your thoughts in the comments field.
