It’s true, it’s difficult to determine an ROI for your Social Media efforts. But that doesn’t mean you’re not able to track your efforts and
determine if your Social Media strategy isn’t working. The good news is if your current strategy isn’t working you can change it and if you have to change it again until you create a strategy that produces results. In order to change your efforts in a new direction you have to first admit your current strategy isn’t working. Here are 3 major signs that your Social Media strategy might need an adjustment.
1. Your Audience Isn’t Growing
In order for your Social Media to be able to help your business grow you need to have your target market’s attention. You gain this attention by continually building your Fans, Followers or Connections depending on which network you’re spending your time on. If your audience is not growing on a monthly basis, chance are you need to reconsider what you’re doing on the network. There are multiple ways you can build your audience. The most effective way to build your audience is by running a Facebook Ad Campaign. This method is not free and may not be obtainable by all businesses. In this case the next best approach would be to build your audience organically. You are able to do this by providing valuable Status Updates, interacting with other pages and getting interaction with your current audience. One way of building your target market that is not suggested is purchasing Fans or Followers. This is not recommended because of the quality of audience you will build.
2. Little or No Interaction
Social Media is all about building relationships, this cannot take place without interaction from your audience. Interaction can come in many forms including; comments, questions, likes, shares, mentions, reTweets and favorites. A well preforming Social Media strategy will be receiving all of these forms of interaction throughout the week. The best way to receive interaction from your audience is by providing valuable Status Updates and engaging comments.
3. No Traffic From Social Media to Main Site
Social Media can play a major roll in sending traffic to your traditional website which is setup to do the real selling for your business. If you Social Media profiles are not providing a large amount of traffic to your set it’s likely that your message is not getting a crossed to your audience. The best way to increase traffic from your Social Media sites is to increase the amount of interaction you are getting on your networks.
