It seems every time we turn on the computer there is some sort of new Social Media network being launched. Of course the largest new network is Google+ which reached 10-million users in a unheard of 2 weeks, but what about the little guys, are they worth putting any time or effort in? There is one network that I would say is worth it, Empire Avenue.
For those of you who have not heard of Empire Avenue it is a virtual Social Media Stock Market. Each user becomes a “stock” that
can be purchased and sold by other users. Upon signing up with Empire Avenue you are encouraged to connect your other profiles, including YouTube, LinkedIn, Facebook, FanPage, Flickr and Twitter to your account. The reason for this is Empire Avenue will create a influence number (out of 100) for each connected profile and then calculate your share price based on these numbers. The higher the influence the higher the share price. Empire Avenue is a mix between Facebook and Klout, allowing you to interact easily with other users while seeing how influential your other profiles are. This is just a basic overview of the network, for additional details visit Empire Avenue signup and get your hands dirty by buying and selling your virtual stock.
By joining Empire communities and talking with many of the users you very quickly learn that most users are shocked at the amount of real value received from the platform. Many users claimed to have signed up believing the site would be, “Just a game” but very quickly see that it is so much more than that, myself included. By purchasing other users stock and being active in multiple communities (similar to a group) you almost immediately start making real connections with other professionals and businesses. These connections often lead to new Followers, Connections, Friends and Fans. Just by joining Empire Avenue, connecting all of your accounts and being slightly active (logging in once a day) you are almost guaranteed to see an increase of action on your other profiles. Empire Avenue as successfully made it fun to manage how powerful all of your Social Media profiles are. This young network is not to be ignored and is highly recommended by the Social Brothers. You will immediately see an increase in connections and networking possibilities, all by spending 30 minutes a day inside the network. A quick warning though, the network is setup like a game, trying to achieve the highest share price, best dividends and gain new investors, it can become very addicting. Don’t say we didn’t warn you!

If you haven’t already go sign up for Empire Avenue, pick your Ticker and start buying some stock.
